Apply for Tuition Assistance with Project Encore AZ

Project Encore AZ is proud to be able to offer tuition assistance to all eligible students. Eligibility is determined by Federal Financial Income Guidelines for Free and Reduced School Lunch or by placement in foster care. Those who qualify may register, tuition-free, for one weekly class or lesson per term. Tuition Assistance is contingent upon availability of funds.

  • To be considered for tuition assistance, Project Encore AZ must receive current eligibility documentation, outlined below. The document must include the student’s name, current dates, and must be received and approved before the student can enroll.

  • Tuition assistance is awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year and approved through the following fall term. Recipients must reapply every fall.

  • Adult students only qualify for tuition assistance if they are still in high school and receiving free/reduced lunch. They may not apply using other document types. If a student is approved for tuition assistance before they turn 18, their tuition assistance will continue after their 18th birthday through the approved year. However, they may only reapply in the fall if they are still in high school and receiving free/reduced lunch.

  • We cannot reserve or hold spots for students with expired or pending tuition assistance approval.

  • If a student would like to register for more than one class or lesson per term or camp per summer, standard rates will apply for each additional registration.

Accepted Documentation
  • A free/reduced lunch eligibility letter from the student’s school

  • Proof that a child is in foster care

  • The most recent year’s federal tax return (form 1040)

  • A current SNAP benefits award letter can be accepted, but must be accompanied by proof that the student is a dependent of the parent/guardian receiving SNAP benefits

Application Process
  • Step 1: To apply for tuition assistance, first create a Family Account on our registration site: JackRabbit. Once you have created an account and added your children as family members, proceed to Step 2.

  • Step 2: Please send us a copy of your Documentation (see above) for each child you wish to be considered for tuition assistance. You can:
    - Scan the documentation and send it via email to ProjectEncoreAZ@gmail.com.
    - Make a copy of the documentation and mail it to Project Encore AZ, c/o Tuition Assistance, 916 Verde Drive  Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.
    - Provide a physical copy of the documentation to your instructor.

  • Step 3: Once we have reviewed and approved your application, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to register.

  • Step 4: Choose the group class or private lesson in which you would like to enroll.

  • Step 5. Reapply during the next Fall Term (2022) by submitting updated documentation. An email reminder will be sent out early in the term. You will be able to register for the fall term using your current approved assistance, but will need to renew before registering for Winter Term activities.
